Weekend snow totals from the two waves
Feb 9, 2025
02/09/25 9am: Wow, while I was expecting the highest snow amounts near Winter Park overnight I was not expecting 13" of new snow there in 24-hours (18" total) with 9" coming overnight. What a nice surprise for folks up there. I know that area and Berthoud Pass needed a big reset.
Anyway, stoked that the two waves this weekend over delivered on the snowfall for many of the northern ski areas. Great to see widespread totals in the 8-12" range at the local ski areas. And as expected, good to see a little bit of snow on the front-range as well with 0.5" to 1.5" in spots over the last 2 days.
Here are some notable 48hr snow totals from the ski areas this morning:
Winter Park: 13”, 18”
Steamboat: 5”, 15”
Breck: 7”, 13”
Vail: 4”, 13”
Aspen Mtn: 9”, 11”
Snowmass: 9”, 11”

Ski Cooper: 3”, 8”
A-Basin: 2”, 8”
Beaver Creek: 2”, 8”
Sunlight: 2”, 4”
Powderhorn: 2”, 3”
Granby: 1”, 3”
Here are some notable 48hr town totals from CoCoRaHS this morning:
Nederland 0.4 WNW: 1.5”
Estes Park 1.8 S: 1.4”
Dumont 2.0 WNW: 1.4”
Evergreen 2.6 S: 1.2”
Bellvue 5.0 W (west of Ft. Collins): 1.2”
Ken Caryl 0.6 WSW: 1.0”
Littleton 4.7 W: 1.0”
Denver 11.0 SSW: 0.9”
Fort Collins 1.0 N: 0.8”
Castle Rock 1.7 E: 0.7”
Anyway, we have more snow coming to both the front-range and mountains starting Mon night into Tue. In fact looks like Den/Bou will have two upslope events: one on Mon night into Tue with some light snow accum and then an even strong storm with much colder air from Tue night and through the day Wed...and it could really pile up in spots (>6" in spots). I'll have much more on the forecast soon.
Some early morning or current snow-stake views below from the ski areas: Winter Park, Steamboat, Eldora, Breck and Aspen.
I'll attach my snowfall forecast map from Thu night so you can see how I did...forecast panned out nicely for the most part 🙂
