Some 24hr snow reports and quick look at snow coming tonight into tomorrow

Mar 6, 2025

03/06/25 11am: Hi, I'm up in Wilderness (Silverthorne) for some appliances and plumbing (and some work lol). It was a pretty easy drive in-between waves. Most of the snow is coming tonight into tomorrow. But so we can keep track of totals, here are some notable 24hrs reports

Purgatory: 8"
Crested Butte: 6"
Vail: 5" (although snow-stake only showed 2-3" new)
Loveland: 4"
Steamboat: 4"
Wolf Creek: 3"
Winter Park: 3"
Keystone: 2"
Beaver Creek: 2"
Aspen Highlands: 2"
Copper: 2"
Granby: 2"
Silverton: 2"
Snowmass: 1"
Breck: 1"
Eldora: 1"
A-Basin: 1"

Looking at the high-res models like HRRR, most of the snowfall for the moutains will be from 2pm today through 8am tomorrow morning, with some lighter snow (mostly along/east of the Cont. Divide / Front Range mountains) tomorrow afternoon: 2pm-2am Sat (will be another round). Amounts are on track, generally 5-12" additional.

For Den/Bou and the front-range best chance for some snow / snow showers will be from 4pm Fri to 12am Sat., best chances west of I-25 and especially in/near the foothills. Generally Trace-3" for Den/Bou and 3-9" in the foothills. I'll have more on the forecast later.

First image is view of Buffalo from our place. Second and third images are morning views of the Crested Butte and Loveland snow-stakes. Fourth image shows forecast total snowfall over the next 48hrs (5am this morning to 5am Sat) from latest HRRR, take amounts with grain of salt.
