Snowfall map for the Tue/Wed storm system 12/02-12/03

Dec 1, 2025

12/01/25 8pm: Alright, here you go: my snowfall forecast map for the next storm system valid from Tue morning through Wed night. I'll let the map mostly speak for itself.

Snow moves back into western CO after 8am tomorrow morning. Most of the snow during the day Tue will be west of Vail Pass (but some near the Cont. Divide as well).

Main snow event for the north-central mountains will be from 5pm Tue through 5pm Wed, heaviest early Wed am, generally 4-10" of new snow.

As I mentioned earlier most of Den/Bou the foothills and Palmer Divide are under a Winter Weather Advisory from 11pm Tue to 5pm Wed (likely some snow showers developing in the foothills and Palmer Divide after 6pm Tue).

Heaviest snow with best upslope flow expected from 5am-2pm Wed (so things may just be getting going Wed am). It will be cold on Wed (low 20s) with snow and ice on the roads.

For Den/Bou proper generally 2-6" of snow with heaviest amounts in the western and southern suburbs (west of I-25 above 5400ft).

Ft. Collins / Loveland / Greeley areas are a bit more of a wildcard as some models show more up there, some less, likely 1-4" there

Foothills can expect 4-10" with heaviest amounts from Nederland south to Evergreen, and towards Georgetown.

The later half of the event will favor southern CO (after 11am Wed through 5am Thu), with some good snowfall for Colorado Springs: 3-6" and even some good snow from Pueblo to Trinidad. Refer to map.

Overall heaviest snowfall again looks to be in parts of the Elk Range (between CB and Aspen), parts of the western San Juans and also parts of the Sangre De Cristos (could be > 12" in spots) on Wed night.

I'm sure some of these details will change as models can't agree on exactly where the heaviest snow will setup (north or south). But this is best guess for now.

Images 2 and 3 compare forecast total snowfall from HRRR and ECMWF you can see some differences.
