Snow totals from this last storm system
Jan 26, 2025
01/26/26 6:45pm Here are some official snow total from this last storm system. As I mentioned before pretty good forecast overall with some surprises on both the high-end and low end. Once again, with these cold upslope events, a big gradient from the eastern plains to near the base of the foothills. Highest totals were measured west of Ft. Collins near Horsetooth Res with 16" at Bellvue.
Locally, as predicted Boulder was in the bullseye again with nearly 12" of new snow on the westside of town and almost 2ft in the last 10 days (from the last two storm system combined). Rest of Den/Bou picked up 2-6" and generally 8-16" over the last 10 days, so that is good and good to see. Also 4-8" for areas from Loveland to Ft. Colins where they needed it and are catching up with the season snowfall now.
In the mountains much more hit or miss with highest amounts as expected in RMNP up to Cameron Pass (nearly 2ft of snow for parts of Cameron Pass, and 1ft for RMNP). Rest of the local ski areas picked up generally 3-6" of new snow.
First image shows 48hr observed snowfall from NOHRSC, interpolated from a variety of sources and can bit a bit off in spots, but generally good. Second image shows total snowfall for the entire season (since Sep 1st) and its pretty accurate as well showing 24-36" for my house and I have measured 31.1". Images 2 and 3 shows the totals from CoCoRaHS (towns) and ski area. Image 4-7 show CoCoRaHS map snipetts (48hr reports).
Snow will move back into southern CO / San Juans Tue into Wed. Some snow for southeast CO on Tue night into Wed... otherwise dry for the rest of CO (including northern CO mountains and front-range) through all of this week.
Weather pattern turns active again starting around next Saturday Feb 1st with snow moving back into the mountains. The period around Feb 3rd to Feb 7th looks active and cold, more on that later.
Oh yeah...Go Bills (as a Broncos fan)!
