Snow Reports: Great to see more heavy snow across the north-central mountain this morning

Jan 2, 2025

01/02/25 9am: Wow, the northwest flow delivered some big time snowfall to parts of the north-central mountains overnight into this morning with the Tenmile range in the flow again! Already 15" at Copper with 12" at Breck and Eldora and even close to 10" near Monarch, A-Basin and Winter Park. What a start to the new year!

Below are 24hr reports from the ski areas combined with what is currently on the snow-stakes (to give the true total so far, numbers in parenthesis):

Copper: 10” (15”)
Eldora: 9” (12”)
Breck: 7” (12”)
Monarch: 8” (9”)
A-Basin: 5” (8”)
Winter Park: 5” (8”)
Loveland: 3” (8”)
Ski Cooper: 7”
Aspen Highlands: 6”
Crested Butte: 6”
Beaver Creek: 5” (6”)
Vail: 4” (6”)
Keystone: 3” (5”)
Steamboat: 3” (4”)
Snowmass: 3”
Granby Ranch: 3”

Snow (and wind) will continue over the north-central mountains through 5pm this evening and then end. High-res models show an additional 2-5" for the local ski areas / I-70 mountain corridor favoring areas near the Cont. Divide and Tenmile Range. I'll have more on that later.

Below I show current snow-stakes from Eldora, Copper (even after being cleared at 4am), Monarch, Breck (even being cleared after 5am), and Winter Park.

How are conditions in your neck of the woods this morning? How are the roads? How is I-70?
