Feb 15, 2025
02/15/25 9:45am: So much weather, so little time lol! Happy Saturday. Having a relaxing morning today before more skiing later this weekend. Even though the snow has already piled up nicely across part of the mountains (especially western and southern CO) we have a bunch more snow coming to the mountains over the next several days and even some snow for Den/Bou later today. Very active weather pattern on tap through Wed am.
First here are some notable 48hr reports from the ski areas:

Wolf Creek: 17”

Beaver Creek: 14”
Crested Butte: 14” (really like 19”, but that was what was reported)

Aspen Mtn: 11”
Keystone: 9”
Copper: 9”
Ski Cooper: 9”
Powderhorn: 9”

Monarch: 7”
Winter Park: 7”
Eldora: 2”
Granby Ranch: 2”
Its currently socked in with fog along the front-range (Den/Bou and at my house) with snow developing closer to Ft. Collins. High-res models show banded snow-showers and some snow from about 12pm-9pm today. Will be hit or miss accumulation. Generally 1/2" to 3" in spots. Best chances from Longmont to Ft. Collins also in/near the foothills (Larimer county foothills may get up to 6" in spots). Later today, after 3pm, best chances for snow will be near Colorado Springs (with 1-5" down there).
In the mountains, the next short-wave is moving in now with heavier snow moving into Aspen/CB and towards Beaver Creek and Vail now. For the north-central mountains, next round of snow will be from about 11am today through 1am Sun: additional 4-10" for the local ski areas, favoring areas west of Vail Pass (Vail, BC, Aspen areas will be favored), less closer to Winter Park unfortunately.
It will be turning windy in spots over the mountains form 6pm today through 12pm tomorrow...especially over the Front Range mountains with westerly wind-gusts of 50-70 mph in spots (worst along/east of the Cont. Divide)...less wind further west (west of Vail Pass, less), wind-gusts of 20-40 mph tonight.
Looking ahead several more storm system on tap. Models show another wave with moist northwest flow impacting the mountains from Sun night into Tue. For the north-central mountains more round of on/off snow from basically 8pm Sun through 8am Tue (two waves likely). And looks like many of the local ski areas will get an additional 6-14" of new snow, favoring northern CO, maybe closer to Winter Park / Berthoud Pass, also Vail and up towards Steamboat with heavy amounts.
For Den/Bou and the front-range model show another surge of arctic air and more snow moving into the front-range Tue afternoon into Wed. Best chances for more snow 2pm Tue through 8am Wed....much, much colder by Tue night and next Wed, high temps only in the teens again!
More snow showers likely for the mountains Tue/Wed as well. So you can see so much more snow and cold to come. Praise Ullr!
First image is current composite radar over the state showing the next round of snow moving in. Second image is latest surface map over CO showing current temps, dewpt, wind-speed and precip. Image 3 shows forecast additional snowfall from now through 5am Sun from latest HRRR (just for this next wave). Fourth image shows forecast total snowfall from now through 8am Tue from latest GFS (includes the next big wave of snow, take with grain of salt). Fifth image shows the very cold air moving into the front-range on Tue night / Wed am from latest GFS.
