Snow and liquid reports from this last storm system. Also 5-day totals for the ski areas

Apr 18, 2026

4/18/26 10am: Morning, happy Saturday! Snow and liquid reports below.

Well that was a nice snow event for much of northern CO and exceeded expectations on the front-range for Den/Bou. Officially 3.4" at the airport (DIA) and also 3.4" for downtown Denver with up to 6" in parts of the foothills.

Great to see a wide swath of 2-6" of new snow for much of the front-range. More importantly a healthy 0.15" to 0.45" of liquid precipitation across much of the region!

At my house I measured 2.8" of snow with 0.25" of swe. This brings my seasonal total to 24.4" (with 2.12" of liquid). Unfortunately the 24.4" is the lowest snow-total I have recorded at my house in the last 20 years (I need 7+" to get off the bottom and we ain't done yet, so we shall see).

Was also cold last night as expected. I had a low of 26 at my house. Observations show lows of 20-30 across the front-range and eastern plains this morning.

In the mountains great to see 4-10" at many of the northern CO ski areas. More importantly 9-18" of new snow over the last 5-days, since Tue.... Oh the irony with most of the ski areas closed!

First image shows 5-day totals (since Tue) and 24hr totals since yesterday morning.

Second image shows top 24hr snowfall reports for the front-range and towns across CO from CoCoRaHS.

Image 3 shows 48hr observed liquid precipitation from MRMS. Images 4 and 5 show 24hr snow and liquid reports (map snippets) from CoCoRaHS.

Looking ahead, back to warm and dry weather from today through Wed. Getting very warm again by Mon, Tue and We with high temps back near 80 for Den/Bou.

Next storm system arrives by Thu (04/23) and it looks active towards the end of April... In fact end of April into early May looks very active with several storm systems on tap (and likely more snow for both the mountains and front-range in that timeframe).

How much snow and liquid precip did you get from this last storm system?
