Sep 17, 2025
09/17/25 8am: Great to the short-wave and cold-front come through as expected with some heavy rain in spots and some snow in the mountains. Its also a cool and crisp fall morning out there with temps in the 40s in Den/Bou and 20s/30s in the mountains (I had a low of 43 at my house).
Second image shows 24hr rainfall from MRMS. Areas near Ft. Collins picked up a whopping 1.15" to 1.65" of rain, along with parts of northeast CO closer to Ft. Morgan to Wray areas.
Much of Den/Bou picked up a respectable 0.20" to 0.50" of rain (I measured 0.28" at my house in Westminster).
And much of the north-central mountains from Vail to Silverthorne to Winter Park also picked up about 0.20" to 0.40" of rain with some snow above 11k ft. Great to see much of the Front Range mountains including Loveland ski area this morning (first image) covered in snow (about 1-3" in a few spots up high)

Chilly out there as well. Third image shows low temps (min-T) since midnight. Areas near / south of Walden got down to 24 last night, similar near Fraser. Much of the mountains valleys had lows between 24-32 degs last night. Den/Bou had low temps between 38-48 last night.
For today another chance for scattered storms up and down the front-range (mostly east of the Cont. Divide, including foothills and Den/Bou) from 3pm-11pm today. After 7pm, the focus will be over the southern front-range from Palmer Divide south. Not much storms for the mountains today. I'll have more forecast details soon.
How are conditions in your neck of the woods this morning? How much rain did you get? What is the temperature?
