Rain and hail reports from yesterday (06/08)

06/09/26 9am: First some rain and hail reports. It was hit or miss, but good to see some heavy rain in spots across parts of Den/Bou and the eastern plains from the strong thunderstorms that rolled through yesterday afternoon.

Parts of Denver picked up 0.25" to 0.75" of rain and with > 1" for parts of the eastern plains. I measured 0.35" at my house in Westminster with pea-sized hail (according to my wife, and no damage luckily).

SPC show hail reports of 0.50" to 2.00" in size with biggest hail associated with the tornado warned storms I was chasing from Kiowa to Limon.

Anyway, for today for thunderstorms in spots especially over parts of the eastern plains and southern CO today. Its already rain some in the San Juans this morning.

For the rest of today, best chances for storms in the mountains and front-range (Den/Bou) will be east of the Cont. Divide and generally along/south of I-70 from 1pm-7pm.

Much of the eastern plains of CO (east of a Greeley to DIA line) will have a chance for storms from 2pm-9pm.

Not much storms for most of the north-central mountains and west / northwest CO (where they really need it). We need to get into more true monsoon flow in order for the central mountains and western CO to get more rain.
