One more active weather day (Thu) before the pattern dries out and heats up
Jun 12, 2025
06/12/25 9:15am: Morning, we are getting ready to head out for some camping today through Sun am, Thomas will be taking over for the weekend. Anyway, we have some weather to talk about: cloudy on the front-range with a few weak rain showers this morning, but its going to be an active weather day in terms of thunderstorms this afternoon (I'm hoping we can dodge the storms setting up camp lol). One more active weather day before the patterns heats up and dries out.
For Den/Bou and the front-range good chances for scattered thunderstorms from 1pm-8pm (best chances 2pm-5pm today), best coverage from Denver south and west, including areas from Palmer Divide to Springs, etc. Later today over the northeast plains. For tomorrow just isolated storms from 3pm-7pm, best chances on Fri will be over northeast CO (plains), after 4pm.
For the north-central and south-central mountains good thunderstorm chances especially from Summit Co east and along/south of I-70, locally the front-range mountains will be favored also parts of southern front-range closer to Pikes Peak and west towards Fairplay (which will impact us lol). Timing for today: 12pm-9pm, best chances 2pm-6pm, best coveage generally along/east of the Cont. Divide (central CO).
For tomorrow limited storm activity for the mountains, just a few storms, mostly east of the Divide again and parts of southern CO.
Then mostly dry and hot for Sat and Sun (high temps in the 90s for Den/Bou, 70s/80s for the mountains).
First image loop shows forecast radar over the next 48hrs (6am this morning through 6am Sat) from latest HRRR. Second image shows top 24hr rain reports across CO from yesterday. Third image is current local satellite showing the clouds over the front-range (and higher dewpoints).
Have a great weekend! Happy pre Father's Day weekend (to all the great adventurous dads out there).
Maybe with Thomas filling in, you will get more exciting weather on Fri and Sat lol.
