Impressive 10-day totals at the ski areas
Feb 17, 2025
02/17/25 9:45am: Still dumping snow in the mountains with an arctic front pushing into northeast CO now. But check out the truly impressive 10-day totals from the ski areas. What a storm cycle its been the last 5 days and even going back to last weekend with widespread totals of 25-60" at the ski areas. I can't believe Vail is leading the charge with 60" in the last 10-days and Steamboat is a close second with 59" in 10-days...and this does not include what has fallen already today (already 3-7" more at the ski areas).
For Den/Bou and the front-range already chilly from Denver north and east as the leading edge of the arctic air moves in. Coldest air along will move into Den/Bou/Ft.Collins after 11pm tonight (going to be very chilly Tue and Wed). Also looks like a chance for some on/off snow-showers from 2pm today through 2am tomorrow morning, best chances closer to Ft. Collins and Greeley. Generally Trace-3" for urban corridor with up to 6" in the foothills (favoring Larimer county).
Snow will continue in the mountains through Tue night / Wed am with an additional 5-12" at the ski areas. Refer to my post from last night for all the details.
First image shows 48hr and 10-day totals at most of the major ski areas. Second image is current view of the Winter Park snow-stake. Third image is current composite radar over the state, showing the heavy snow in the mountains ands some over northern CO. Fourth image is latest surface map over CO showing current temps, dewpt, wind-speed and precip.
How are conditions in your neck of the woods today?
