Big rain and snow totals on the front-range this morning
May 7, 2025
05/07/25 8:45am: Morning! Well it turned out to be a pretty big precip event for the front-range after all, as expected (lots of doubters yesterday lol). Overall looking at 48hr rainfall and snow totals the forecast verified nicely on the front-range and for areas east of the Cont. Divide. It was a bit of a bust for parts of the mountains west of the Divide (but I mentioned that last night).
Below I show 72hr observed rainfall (liquid precip) from MRMS, along with 72hr observed snowfall from NOHRSC and 48hr CoCoRaHS reports and some top 24hr rain and snow reports (also from CoCoRaHS).
So great to see generally 0.75" to 1.75" of rain across much of Den/Bou/Ft. Collins areas. With 6-15" of snow in the front-range mountains and foothills.
And crazy to see 1.75" to 3.75" of rain across southern CO (> 4" in a few spots), with 12-24" for some of the southern front-range mountains and foothills.

What are your thoughts on the forecast? There were so many that thought it was going to be bust for Den/Bou yesterday (thoughts now?, need some patience sometimes).
For the rest of today: scattered rain showers for the front-range (Den/Bou) with some scattered snow showers in the mountains.
Stoked on the heavy precip. I'll ski tomorrow.
