Atmospheric River and Heavy Snow for the Mountains

Nov 26, 2024

1/26/24 9:50am: Here is a quick look at how the snowfall will evolve over the next 48hrs. First image loop (last image since FB is being strange) below shows forecast additional snowfall from 5am this morning to 5am Thu from latest HRRR (it does include some that has fallen this morning)...but what you can see is that the heaviest snowfall will really be from late tonight through mid-day tomorrow.

For Den/Bou rain from 10pm tonight to 3am tomorrow morning then rain/snow or all snow from about 4am-2pm Wed (heaviest Wed mid-morning): 1-5" for urban corridor (below 6k ft) and 4-10" for the foothills and PD. The Foothills and Palmer Divide are under a Winter Weather Advisory (purple) from 11pm tonight to 5pm Wed.

Mountains can expect 10-24" on top of what had already fallen. Most of the north-central mountains are under a Winter Storm Warning through 5pm Wed.
