Another round of impressive rain totals for southern CO, 4-9" of rain there in the last 5 days
Oct 14, 2025
10/14/25 8:15am: Wow, another round of very impressive rain totals across southwest CO in/near the western San Juans with 2-3" of rain already in the last 24hr with > 3" for parts of the upper San Juans! That brings 5-day totals to 4-9" of rain in spots! Its still raining in western / southern CO this morning (contrast that with sunny skies on the front-range (Den/Bou) with little measurable rain last night).
It appears that the main moisture plume setup just a bit further west and south last night into this morning. Also seems like the accumulating snow-line went back up to be mostly above 10k ft (for example looking at Wolf Creek web cams, just rain at the base and no snow at all). Monarch did pick up some snow (1-2") and a little bit for parts of the north-central mountains (like 1/2" near A-Basin, etc). But overall not much snow, but a ton of rain!
The big story is the impressive rainfall on top of what fell Fri through Sun. With 2-3" of additional rainfall, some areas near the western San Juans (near Durango, Vallecito, Pagosa Springs to Wolf Creek Pass) have picked up an impressive 4-9" of rain in the last 5 days!
