A round of rain showers expected across the state Tue afternoon
Apr 29, 2025
04/29/25 8:10am: As I mentioned yesterday we will have a round of rain/snow showers over parts of the state this afternoon and evening ahead of the stronger storm system expected for Wed into Thu. Its a bit of a chilly start, so with more limited heat today, weak storms in many areas.
High-res models show best chances for scattered storms (and snow above 9500ft), mostly south and west of Denver today, say from Foothills around Evergreen west and south of I-70...and especially over south-central CO, in the 1pm-9pm timeframe.
For Den/Bou isolated storms from 3pm-9pm, best chances in/near the foothills and along the Palmer Divide.
For the north-central mountains 1pm-8pm, snow line will be around 9kft, best chances along/east of the Cont. Divide. Trace-2" of snow in a few spots.
Then heavier rain/snow moves into northern CO after 3pm tomorrow with a good precip event from 5pm Wed through 5pm Thu....refer to my post from last night for all those details.
