A quick look at the storm system expected from Fri evening through Sat evening (10/03-10/04)

09/30/25 8:20am: Just a quick mention on the next storm system: slated to impact the state from 3pm Fri through 6pm Sat with biggest impacts during the day Sat.
Initially the short-wave trough (that you can see below) comes in with strong southwest flow and will favor southwest CO / San Juans for the heaviest precip on Fri night into Sat am.
By Sat am through Sat evening the low will lift northeast across CO brining some rain/snow to the north-central mountains and parts of the Front Range mountains, foothills and urban corridor.
Rain moves back into the San Juans after 3pm Fri. Some rain/snow there Fri night into Sat am, snow-level will fall to around 10k ft by Sat am.
For the north-central mountains the main rain/snow event will likely be from 3am-6pm Sat. Snow-level will likely drop to 9500 ft by Sat pm. the northern Front Range mountains will be favored for heaviest snow accum by Sat pm.
For Den/Bou and the front-range, cooler, cloudier with rain showers likely from 12pm-6pm on Sat, favoring areas from Boulder north to Ft. Collins and up into southern WY. Snow-level will be above 9500ft.
