Jan 8, 2025

01/08/24 3:45pm: I'll have a more detailed updated tonight, but we have some more weather coming tomorrow via a cold, northwest flow oriented clipper system which will bring some snow to both the north-central mountain and front-range (including Den/Bou and the Palmer Divide).

The Palmer Divide and parts of the northeast plains including Castle Rock, Monument, Elizabeth, Akron and Limon are under a Winter Weather Advisory from 3am-5pm Fri: 1-4" of snow, with northerly / northwesterly wind-gusts of 30-50mph

For Den/Bou some light snow / snow showers expected primarily from 4am-4pm: Trace-2" in spots, best chances from Denver south and near/along the Palmer Divide. Foothills west/southwest of Denver can expect 1-4" in spots. It will also be turning windy and cold from 11am-6pm: northwest wind-gusts of 20-40mph

For the north-central mountains some snow / snow-showers from 1am-8pm Thursday: 1-6" of new snow with highest amounts over the Front Range mountains (along/east of the Cont. Divide: areas near Loveland, Jones/Berthoud Passes, WP, IPW, RMNP will be favored). Also windy and cold up there tomorrow.

First image shows the current Winter Weather Advisories across CO. Second and third image compare forecast total snowfall from now through 5am Fri from latest ECMWF and HRRR models (take with grain of salt). Fourth image shows forecast wind-gusts at 12pm tomorrow from HRRR.
