A look at the 6-10 day forecast and beyond. The weather pattern looks active for the beginning of Nov.

10/25/26 7:45pm: Hi, hope you are having a good Sunday (glad the Broncos won!). Lets take a look at what we can expect weather-wise over the next 6-10 day and beyond.

First good to see some rain showers on the front-range this evening and some rain/snow in the mountains. Most of the meaningful snow is currently over western Larimer Co / Cameron Pass areas (that area will be favored overnight). And some over the central mountains as well.

Anyway, Signals point to an active and somewhat colder weather pattern setting up over the western U.S. (including CO at times) in the next 7-15 days but devil is in the details and will all depend on the storm track and where the dominant lows go.

You can see in the first image below (the 6-10 day Precip Outlook from NOAA), that much of CO and the southwest U.S. has a good chance for above average precip from Oct 31st through Nov 4th and that coincides with the data I'm seeing in the models as indicated on some of the images below.

The next major storm system(s) will impact CO from generally Nov 1st to Nov 5th. But lots of uncertainty in the forecast in terms of how the northern branch (colder) trough interacts with a southern low (from the supercharged subtropical branch), models have been all over the place.

Overall the pattern will continue to favor southern / western CO, with more southwest flow in the forecast and least initially next Sat/Sun (31st into the 1st)

Its even more uncertain for Den/Bou and the front-range: likely some rain/snow around the Nov 1st/2nd timeframe but it could be too much downslope flow again. Then if ECMWF had its way there could be a a second storm / cold-front with a chance for snow for Den/Bou around Nov 3rd/4th (or 5th/6th depending on the model run).

The north-central mountains will have a good shot of snow starting on Oct 31s through Nov 4th initially, maybe multiple waves. Does look colder withs snow-levels dropping to valley floors (below 7500ft).

Looking a ways out, maybe the most active part of the late fall pattern with colder air and better snow chances for both the mountains and front-range will arrive around Nov 15th to the 20th, but that is a ways out, so who knows.

Prior to this more active weather, another stretch of seasonably mild and dry weather from Tue through most of Sat (10/27-10/31)...it will be nice weather to be outside.

Also in-between storm systems, it will likely get quite warm again, say in the Nov 6th-11th timeframe (models shows some warm temps for Denver, will depend on storm track).

That is all for now.

First image is the 6-10 day outlook from NOAA. Second image shows the complex setup for next Sun, Nov 1st (uncertain how those storms come together).

Image 3 shows the 24hr snowfall chicklet chart for Berthoud Pass from EC-AIFS model and compared older model runs top to newer model runs, bottom...the clustering of color indicates active weather, I highlighted the next best chances for snow in the mountains.

Images 4 and 5 are interesting: from the longer range ECMWF seasonal model, it shows an ensemble of forecast total snowfall over the next 1 month+....the more colors the higher the snow accumulation in the forecast....

You can see for Den/Bou initial snow chances come in around Nov 3rd-7th with better chances 17th-20th. For Berthoud Pass better chances Nov 1st-5th, then again Nov 15th-20th and beyond.... take with a huge grain of salt but you can see some signals showing up.

Lets do this, I'm ready for the cold-air. Should be right on time in November ๐Ÿ™‚
